Our Last LOGOS of the Fall Semester!!

Last night we had a great time at our Pilgrim Party, which was the last LOGOS of the fall semester. The children played some pilgrim games, heard a great story about "stone soup", and enjoyed a great feast of ham, sweet potatoes, corn, and pie. We even had some fun with the "Turkey Jerky" after dinner.

Thank you to everyone who helped this semester. We ended the semester with 27 registered children!! I look forward to seeing everyone back next semester. We will start with a pajama party on January 14, 2009. Veteran's Honored At LOGOS!

This week at LOGOS we honored our Veteran's for Veteran's Night. The children enjoyed making patriotic table decorations during recreation. We all enjoyed a dinner of baked chicken with noodles and vegetables. The evening was complete with balloon relays and "marching in the light of God".

Fun at Backwards Night!!

This week at LOGOS we had some fun with Backwards Night!! There was much hilarity with doing things backwards, and we enjoyed having breakfast for dinner!! Thanks to Heidi, Lynn and Sophia for the amazing french toast and sausage links. The kids ate it faster than they could cook it!!

Our final LOGOS meeting for the fall will be on November 19th. We will begin again for the spring semester on January 14, 2009.

The Masquerade Party At LOGOS Was Full of Unexpected Visitors!!

The Masquerade Party at LOGOS included many unexpected visitors. We had Spiderman, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Cleopatra, Mulan, a Star Wars Character, a Colonial Times Girl, a Princess, a Night Angel, a Sherrif, a Western Girl, Gabriella from High School Musical, a 60's Girl, and a Peacock. A great time was had by all!!

Tie-Dye Night was Great!!

This week we enjoyed Tie-Dye night at LOGOS. The kids enjoyed tie-dying our napkins during recreation. We had many wearing tie-dye shirts and we even had some dead ties!! We enjoyed a fantastic taco dinner topped off with rainbow sherbert. Thanks so much to Heidi, Lynn and Joe for preparing such a fine meal. Thanks also to Steve, Pat, Dwayne and Jack for helping with clean up. A great time was had by all.

Next week join us for our Masquerade Party!! Everyone in encouraged to come in costume. Come join us; you never know who you might see there!!

Hokie Hilarity At LOGOS

Hokie Night was a hit at LOGOS!! The kids enjoyed playing with footballs and pom poms during recreation, and had some great Hokie Hilarity after dinner with cotton balls!! A great meal of turkey with peas, mashed potatoes and gravy was greatly enjoyed by all. Thanks so much to Heidi, Lynn and Catherine for their hard work in the kitchen.

Next week, join us for Tie-Dye night. It should prove to be a colorful evening!!

Invite a Friend Night was HUGE!!!

There is one word for this week's Invite A Friend Night at LOGOS...HUGE!!! We had a total of 33 children and 20 adults!! Thank you to all of our adult volunteers and especially our cooks - Heidi, Lynn, and Rhoda - for feeding so many!! Spaghetti & meatballs was enjoyed by all! The kids had a great time and enjoyed having extra friends at LOGOS. A special welcome to Hope, who was Rachel's guest tonight, and has registered to participate the rest of the year!!

Stars showed up for Movie Night at LOGOS

We had a great time at movie night this week. Stars spotted included John Wayne, Hermione Granger, Mulan, and Underdog! The kids had a great time making their own movie of their Gorilla Hunt, and Pizza and cookies were enjoyed by all.

Another Great Week at LOGOS!

Last night we enjoyed Noah's Ark night at LOGOS. The children enjoyed making origami animals in recreation, and got to act like animals after dinner! Thanks to everyone who participated. Next week come dressed as your favorite movie character. I'll see you then for "A Night At The Movies"!

LOGOS is off to a great start!

We just finished our second week of LOGOS and we are off to a great start! Last week we had a great time harvesting potatoes and squash for the Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry. At the next LOGOS, our theme will be Noah's Ark. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there!
