Thanksgiving Party!

Tonight we enjoyed our last LOGOS of the fall semester with a Thanksgiving Party! The children enjoyed crafts in Recreation, and continued working on advent music in Worship Skills. After bible study, we all gathered for family time, and enjoyed baked chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, rolls, and salad. Dessert was pie with whipped cream. After dessert, we enjoyed a game of Turkey Jerky!

Thanks to everyone who helped tonight. We will meet again after the new year. Our next LOGOS will be our Welcome Back Party on January 13, 2010. We will also have a leader training the week prior to our return on Wednesday, January 6, 2010. More information concerning that training will be sent via email.

Veterans' Night

Tonight we were pleased to honor our veterans. Those in attendance included Andy Robeson, Jack Webster, Steve Cole, Charles Bostian, and Paul Ruszler. We also honored those veterans in our church family who could not be with us. We thank all veterans and those currently serving in our military around the world.

Favorite Color Night

Favorite Color Night was...colorful! We had every color of the rainbow and more. The children enjoyed fun games with colored balloons in recreation, and continued to work on advent music in worship skills. Bible study was followed by our family time meal. We all enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs, salad, and bread, with cookies for dessert.

Costume Night!

Tonight at LOGOS we had many special guests. Wonder Woman was there, along with a pajama girl, and a Greek goddess. We also had a clown, a few witches, a referee, and some interesting masked people. We enjoyed recreation, worship skills and bible study. This was followed by a pizza dinner with an ice cream and cookies dessert.

It's A Zoo Night!

Although I was not able to attend, I heard a "wild" time was had by all at It's A Zoo Night! They enjoyed a great meal of chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, and salad. This was followed by ice cream with animal crackers for dessert. Thanks to everyone who helped with LOGOS this week.

F.R.O.G. Night!

Tonight was F.R.O.G. Night at LOGOS. The kids enjoyed some froggy games in recreation, and learned more about forgiveness in worship skills. After bible study, we all met for family time. We enjoyed a great dinner of "frog" legs, mac-n-cheese, brocolli, and salad. After enjoying cake for dessert, we played a fun "lilly pad" game. A "hoppin" good time was had by all! Thanks so much to everyone who helped with our program tonight.

A Night In Mexico!!

Tonight we enjoyed A Night In Mexico at LOGOS! It was a real fiesta!! The kids enjoyed some fun games in recreation. They also learned more about the parts of worship, and enjoyed playing music and singing in worship skills. After bible study, we enjoyed a mexican feast of tacos, rice, beans, and salad. After ice cream for dessert, the kids enjoyed a jovial game involving straws and M&M candies.

Hokie Night!

Tonight we celebrated Hokie Night at LOGOS. The children enjoyed some challenges in recreation as well as a fun memory game. They also enjoyed worship skills and bible study, followed by family time. Our meal tonight was of course, turkey...with mash potatoes, gravy, peas, and salad. We all enjoyed apple pie for dessert. We also enjoyed a crazy game of musical chairs, though my lap is still a little sore!!

Crazy Sock Night

Crazy sock night was...crazy!! A great time was had by all. The children enjoyed playing "sock ball" in recreation, and got to play some orff instruments in worship skills. We had bible study and then everyone enjoyed a delicious meal of chicken nuggets, noodles, broccoli, and salad. We enjoyed ice cream and cookies for dessert. Family time ended with a rousing game of "shoe hoop". We finished the night with our closing song, complete with new movements.

LOGOS Round-up!!

Tonight we welcomed everyone back for our opening night of LOGOS with LOGOS Round-up! A great time was had by all! We enjoyed some crafts, as well as some outside play time. We also enjoyed some sign language during worship skills and met with our new bible study classes. Dinner was mighty fine!! We all enjoyed hamburgers, beans, french fries, and salad followed by ice cream. Last, some of us got to the end of our rope as we "spun a good yarn".

Grand Finale - Luau Celebration

We finished our LOGOS year tonight with our Grand Finale Luau Celebration. The kids had a great night. They all enjoyed making Easter baskets during recreation and playing limbo. They also worked on their Easter songs in worship skills. After a final bible study, everyone enjoyed a delicious feast of ham, potatoes, corn and salad. We finished with ice cream sandwiches and our awards and volunteer recognition programs. All enjoyed the continuous running slide show. Thanks to Charles Bostian for his hard work on the slideshow.

Thanks also to all volunteers who made this amazing LOGOS year possible. We had a total of 58 volunteers and 28 children involved in our program this year. I greatly appreciate the support of our congregation for our LOGOS program. A year end survey will be ready in the next few weeks, so that everyone can give feedback on our program. We will also have a year end meeting towards the end of April. The dates for our 2009/2010 LOGOS year will be published as soon as they are available. In the meantime, I encourage everyone to join us this summer for our Vacation Bible School on June 28-July 2.

Lucky Charm Night!

Although I had to miss Lucky Charm Night, I heard it was great! The kids made leprechauns in recreation, and enjoyed hot dogs and bingo at dinner. Thanks to everyone who helped with LOGOS last night and a special thanks to Amy Ogburn for taking my place.

Around the World Night

Tonight we celebrated different cultures with Around the World Night at LOGOS. We enjoyed outside play in recreation, playing hand chimes and snoot flutes in worship skills, and a delicious dinner of french toast with sausage and fruit. Thanks to Joe, Lynn, Caryl and Millie for their hard work in the kitchen tonight. Join us next week for Lucky Charm Night!

Also, please remember that our Grand Finale Luau Celebration will happen in 2 weeks on March 25th. All families are invited to join us for dinner on our final evening. Crazy Hat Night!

Crazy Hat Night was...CRAZY!! Many were wearing very interesting hats, we played games with hats in recreation and played a crazy game at dinner! We also worked on our musical pieces for Sunday worship and had bible study. Dinner was grilled cheese and soup! Thanks so much to Heidi, Lynn, Ron, Carol and Millie for their hard work in the kitchen.

Count Your Blessings Night!

Last night we celebrated Ash Wednesday with Count Your Blessings Night! We counted our blessings as we used beads to make bookmarks in Recreation, and we worked on some new Easter songs in Worhsip Skills. After bible study, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner of chicken nuggets, macaroni & cheese, salad, and broccoli. Thanks to Heidi, Lynn, Sue and Tom for their help in the kitchen last night.

For next week, dig through your closets and drawers to find your craziest hat for Crazy Hat Night! It should be very entertaining!!

Ride the Range Night!

There was a real horse at LOGOS tonight for Ride the Range Night!! Thanks so much to Sarah and Linda for bringing their horse Lexi to recreation at LOGOS. The kids enjoyed brushing her, petting her, and feeding her carrots. They also learned a little about how to care for a horse. After worship skills and bible study, we all gathered at the "camp fire" for a fantastic dinner of chicken legs, noodles, peas and salad. Thanks to Sue, Heidi, Lynn, and Martha for their hard work in the kitchen tonight.

Be Mine Night at LOGOS!!

We celebrated Valentine's Day this week at LOGOS with Be Mine Night. The kids enjoyed playing outside in the warmer weather before heading inside for our regular program. We continue to work on new songs in worship skills and enjoyed some fun and games in recreation. After bible study, we enjoyed a wonderful spaghetti dinner! Thanks to Lynn, Ron, Joe, Carol, and Millie for their hard work in the kitchen tonight.

Snow Day = No LOGOS!

Today schools were closed for a snow day, so unfortunately LOGOS was cancelled. I hope everyone got a chance to sled down a hill today! LOGOS will resume next week with our "Be Mine Night" to celebrate Valentine's Day. Come let us share God's love with you at this fun mid-week ministry.

Thank-a-Teacher Night was great!!

Everyone enjoyed our Thank-a-Teacher night last night at LOGOS. We had 4 teachers as guests at dinner, and we enjoyed a fun version of family feud. The children finished their teacher gifts in recreation and continued learning some new music in worship skills. We all enjoyed a delicious dinner of lasagna, salad and bread. Thanks to Sophia, Lynn, Heidi, Carol and Millie, for their work in the kitchen last night.

Birthday Bash was a blast!!

A great time was had by all at our Birthday Bash night at LOGOS this week. The kids enjoyed making some gifts for their teachers in recreation, and had a great presentation in worship skills on the history of our church. Dinner was a fine meal of grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup, followed by amazing birthday cakes prepared by Sandy Gaylord. Thank you so much to Sandy, Heidi, Ron, Jack, and Lynn for all of their hard work.

A Pajama Party!

Everyone enjoyed our Pajama Party to kick off the start of our spring semester at LOGOS! The children enjoyed learning some new songs in worship skills, and had crazy fun in recreation playing a pajama party version of musical chairs, and other wacky pj fun. A fine dinner of pizza and salad was followed by delicious cake!! We welcome Conner Winn who is joining us this semester. We have 27 young people registered for the spring semester.

Come join us next week, as we celebrate everyone's birthday at our Big Birthday Bash!! The following week is Thank-a-Teacher Night, so be sure to invite your favorite teacher and have them reply to Traci McCoy by noon on Friday, January 23rd.
